Next 26-27th January, 2012 the “I Radiosurgery Meeting: Brain and Spinal metastases” will be celebrated in Castellon organized by a multidisciplinary team of the Castellon Hospital. The meeting will take place in the Hotel Civis Castellon Center (Castellon, Spain).
The meeting will count with the presence of Dr. Josh Yamada (MSKCC, New York) and
Dr. Peter C. Gerzten (UPM; Pittsburgh) and other national relevant speakers who will relate their clinical experience and practical clinical cases.

The Workshop will expose the results of the survey on the situation of the SBRT in Spain, the clinical experience of the centers, the work subgroups will be constituted by pathologies to remind protocols and offers will be realized on clinical trials…

On the 17th and 18th of November it will be celebrated in CROASA Málaga (Spain) the Scientific Meeting: "Clinical Experience in VMAT-IMRT: Advances in Radiotherapy and Oncology".
We believe that it can be of interest for many centers that realizes SBRT since these technologies can be applied in the planning and delivery of SBRT treatments. For this reason, we diffuse this meeting from this blog in order that the interested professionals could be registered following the instructions of the informative document.

The major efficiency of the treatment, the decrease of side effects and the improvement in the quality of life in the cancer patients will constitute the principal contributions of the linear accelerator TrueBeamSTx of the Instituto de Medicina Oncológica y Molecular de Asturias (IMOMA). It will start treatments next autumn.
The new equipment is "extremely versatile", with aptitude to attend from the "simpler and conventional" treatments up to the "more complexes" as the SBRT.
The TrueBeamSTx will do the radiations more accurate, more rapid and less aggressive and will facilitate the reduction of 1 or 2 centimeters to 1 or 2 millimeters in the treatment zone of oncological processes and will code the percentages of treatment success in 90 % in some cases opposite to 0 previous %.

In August, 2011, the "Virgen de la Victoria" Hospital has realized the first treatment with SBRT in a patient with primary lung cancer. They will extend indications progressively.
From the SBRT SG we want to congratulate and to encourage them to share their experiences.
En Agosto de 2011 el H. Virgen de la Victoria ha realizado su primer tratamiento con SBRT en un paciente con Ca. de pulmón primario. Ampliarán indicaciones progresivamente.
Desde el grupo SBRT SG queremos felicitarlos y animarlos a compartir sus experiencias.

The members’ group can indicate their favorite two groups to be assigned to one of them and the work will be distributed in a balanced way.
Recientemente el Grupo Español de SBRT ha creado sus Subgrupos de Trabajo:
Pulmón / Hígado / Próstata / Médula-Vértebras y Otras Patologías
Los miembros de SBRT Spanish Group pueden indicar los dos grupos que prefieren para ser asignados a uno de ellos y así distribuir el trabajo equilibradamente.

We recommend to the SBRT Spanish Group the magazine "Journal of Radiosurgery and SBRT (JRSBRT)" that has edited its first number in January, 2011 and whose publisher is the Dr. Samuel Ryu.
It would be very interesting to present works and to consult the published ones in it since nowadays it is the only publication with the aim to stimulate publications of radiosurgery and SBRT.
