II STEROTACTIC BODY RADIOTHERAPY (SBRT) EEOR COURSE / II Curso de Radioterapia Estereotáctica Corporal” de la Escuela Española de Oncología Radioterápica (EEOR)

Next 11 and 12 December 2014 will be held in Madrid H. Sanchinarro the "II Course of Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy" organized by the Spanish School of Radiation Oncology (EEOR). On the 30th of May it will be celebrated in ONCOSUR Jerez (Spain) the Scientific Meeting: "VMAT: Evidence and Multicentric experience. Update 2014".

We believe that it can be of interest for many centers that realizes SBRT/SABR since these technologies can be applied in the planning and delivery of SBRT treatments. XIV SPANISH RADIOSURGERY SOCIETY CONGRESS / XIV CONGRESO DE LA SOCIEDAD ESPAÑOLA DE RADIOCIRUGÍA

The XIV Spanish radiosurgery Congress will be held in Bayona (Pontevedra, Spain) between 24-26 of September 2014. The main objective of the course is: “From Radiosurgery to Ablative Radiotherapy”.

THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL COURSE ABOUT ADVANCED TECHNIQUES IN RADIOSURGERY / CURSO TEÓRICO-PRÁCTICO DE TÉCNICAS AVANZADAS EN RADIOCIRUGÍA

The IMO Group organized the 4th edition of “Advanced Techniques in radiosurgery for brain and body lessions” (5-7 March 2014). The course was celebrated in Madrid in the Cyberknife Group center. It has received 45 pupils from different backgrounds and specialties as well as 31 speakers from the specialties of Neurosurgery, Radiation Oncology and Radiophysics. Among them has had the  presence of Dr. Iris Gibbs (Stanford University).

The main objective of the course was to learn about new advances in the techniques used in the field of radiosurgery, radiobiological rationale, criteria and indications , methodology and results.

Other objectives were to learn about different strategies and treatment planning as well as technological advances produced. Transmitting contemporary experience and significance in the treatment of cerebral and extracerebral pathology. Analyze the current and future state of radiosurgery.

El Grupo IMO ha celebrado la 4ª edición de “Técnicas Avanzadas en Radiocirugía en lesiones cerebrales y corporales” (5-7 de Marzo de 2014). El curso se ha celebrado en Madrid en la sede Cyberknife del Grupo. Ha contado con 45 inscritos de distintos orígenes y especialidades así como con 31 ponentes de las especialidades de Neurocirugía, Oncología Radioterápica y Radiofísica. Entre ellos se ha contado con a presencia de la Dra. Iris Gibbs (Universidad de Stanford).

El objetivo principal del curso ha sido conocer y transmitir los nuevos avances en las técnicas utilizadas en el campo de la Radiocirugía, fundamentos radiobiológicos, criterios e indicaciones, metodología y resultados.

Otros objetivos han sido conocer las diferentes estrategias de planificación y tratamiento así como los avances tecnológicos producidos. Transmitir la experiencia contemporánea y la importancia en el tratamiento de la patología cerebral y extracerebral. Analizar el estado actual y futuro de la Radiocirugía.

II WORKSHOP ON SBRT SG

On April 12, 2013 was held in Madrid (HM Universitario Sanchinarro) the II Workshop on SBRT SG. Attended by over 60 radiation oncologists and physicists from Spain (37 centers) and Portugal (7 centers).

The Workshop was updated the current status of this technique (active in 25 Spanish centers) and the subgroups presented their agreed national protocols for lung, liver, spine and lymph node lesions.

El pasado 12 de Abril 2013 se celebró en Madrid (HM Universitario Sanchinarro) la II Jornada sobre SBRT SG. Asistieron más de 60 oncólogos radioterápicos y físicos de España (37 centros) y Portugal (7 centros).

En las Jornadas se actualizó la situación actual de esta técnica (activa en 25 centros españoles) y se presentaron las propuestas nacionales de protocolos consensuados por los subgrupos de trabajo para lesiones pulmonares, hepáticas, vertebrales y ganglionares.

II STEROTACTIC BODY RADIOTHERAPY WORKSHOP (SBRT SPANISH GROUP)

Next 12th April 2013 the “II SBRT Workshop” will be celebrated in Madrid organized by the SBRT SG and supported by the SEOR.  The meeting will take place in the Madrid Sanchinarro Hospital (Madrid, Spain). The Workshop will check the SBRT situation in Spain, will present the medical physics group consensus, will discuss the proposed protocols for lung, liver, spinal and nodes lesions and finally, the groups of prostate and brain lesions frameless will be constituted. El próximo 12-4-13 se va a celebrar en el H. Madrid Sanchinarro la “II Jornada de Radioterapia Estereotáctica Corporal”. En ella se va a revisar a situación de la SBRT en España, se va a presentar el consenso del grupo de física médica, se van a discutir los protocolos propuestos para lesiones pulmonares, hepáticas, espinales y ganglionares y, por último, se constituirán los grupos de próstata y cerebral sin marco.
