Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy Group (SEOR)
The
IMO Group organized the 4th edition of “Advanced Techniques in radiosurgery for
brain and body lessions” (5-7 March 2014). The course was celebrated in Madrid
in the Cyberknife Group center. It has received 45 pupils from different
backgrounds and specialties as well as 31 speakers from the specialties of
Neurosurgery, Radiation Oncology and Radiophysics. Among them has had the presence of Dr. Iris Gibbs (Stanford
University).
The
main objective of the course was to learn about new advances in the techniques
used in the field of radiosurgery, radiobiological rationale, criteria and
indications , methodology and results.
Other
objectives were to learn about different strategies and treatment planning as
well as technological advances produced. Transmitting contemporary experience
and significance in the treatment of cerebral and extracerebral pathology.
Analyze the current and future state of radiosurgery.
El Grupo IMO
ha celebrado la 4ª edición de “Técnicas Avanzadas en Radiocirugía en lesiones cerebrales
y corporales” (5-7 de Marzo de 2014). El curso se ha celebrado en Madrid en la
sede Cyberknife del Grupo. Ha contado con 45 inscritos de distintos orígenes y
especialidades así como con 31 ponentes de las especialidades de Neurocirugía,
Oncología Radioterápica y Radiofísica. Entre ellos se ha contado con a
presencia de la Dra. Iris Gibbs (Universidad de Stanford).
El objetivo
principal del curso ha sido conocer y transmitir los nuevos avances en las
técnicas utilizadas en el campo de la Radiocirugía, fundamentos radiobiológicos,
criterios e indicaciones, metodología y resultados.
Otros
objetivos han sido conocer las diferentes estrategias de planificación y
tratamiento así como los avances tecnológicos producidos. Transmitir la
experiencia contemporánea y la importancia en el tratamiento de la patología
cerebral y extracerebral. Analizar el estado actual y futuro de la
Radiocirugía.
