I STEREOTACTIC BODY RADIOTHERAPY (SBRT) COURSE


The Spanish School of Radiation Oncology (EEOR) has organized this first national course in Barcelona (Santa Creu i Sant Pau Hospital) on the 7th and 8th of May, 2012.

The course has been presented by the Dr. Ferrán Guedea (The Director of EEOR and Radiation Oncology Department of the ICO, Barcelona) and the Dr. Alfredo Ramos (SEOR’s President and Radiation Oncology Department of the Ramón y Cajal Hospital, Madrid). The course has been directed by the Dr. Miquel Maciá (Radiation Oncology Department of the Duran i Reynalds Hospital, Hospitalet) and the Dr. Carmen Rubio (Radiation Oncology Department of Sanchinarro Hospital, Madrid).

The SBRT is an emergent technology in Spain (nowadays 20 hospitals have it active) and in continuous evolution that wakes great interest up between the radiation oncologists.

The course has possessed a hundred of national and international participants specialists in Radiation Oncology and Physics from Portugal, France, Belgium and the USA. The teacher Carlos A. Perez, author of the book " Principles and Practice of Radiation Oncology " that is reference for specialists of the whole world, closed the course.
