Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy Group (SEOR)
The course has been presented by the Dr. Ferrán Guedea (The Director of EEOR and Radiation Oncology Department of the ICO, Barcelona) and the Dr. Alfredo Ramos (SEOR’s President and Radiation Oncology Department of the Ramón y Cajal Hospital, Madrid). The course has been directed by the Dr. Miquel Maciá (Radiation Oncology Department of the Duran i Reynalds Hospital, Hospitalet) and the Dr. Carmen Rubio (Radiation Oncology Department of Sanchinarro Hospital, Madrid).
The SBRT is an emergent technology in Spain (nowadays 20 hospitals have it active) and in continuous evolution that wakes great interest up between the radiation oncologists.
The course has possessed a hundred of national and international participants specialists in Radiation Oncology and Physics from Portugal, France, Belgium and the USA. The teacher Carlos A. Perez, author of the book " Principles and Practice of Radiation Oncology " that is reference for specialists of the whole world, closed the course.
La Escuela Española de Oncología Radioterápica (EEOR) ha organizado este primer curso a nivel nacional en Barcelona (H. De la Santa Creu i Sant Pau) los días 7 y 8 de Mayo de 2012.
El curso ha sido presentado por el Dr. Ferrán Guedea (Director de EEOR y Servicio de Oncología Radioterápica del ICO, Barcelona) y el Dr. Alfredo Ramos (Presidente de la SEOR y Servicio del Hospital Ramón y Cajal, Madrid). El curso ha sido dirigido por el Dr. Miquel Maciá (Servicio del Hospital Duran i Reynalds, Hospitalet) y la Dra. Carmen Rubio (Servicio de Oncología Radioterápica del H. Sanchinarro, Madrid).
La SBRT es una técnica emergente en España (actualmente 20 servicios la tienen activa) y en continua evolución que despierta gran interés entre los oncólogos radioterápicos.
El curso ha contado con un centenar de participantes especialistas en Oncología Radioterápica y Física a nivel nacional e internacional (Portugal, Francia, Bélgica y EEUU). El profesor Carlos A. Pérez, autor del manual “Principles and Practice of Radiation Oncology” que es referente para especialistas de todo el mundo, pronunció la conferencia de Clausura.
